I’ve been immersed in leadership for my entire career. After 17 years in the army, I ventured into the world of consulting and leadership development, where time and time again I encountered organisations with little to no support or development opportunities for their leaders. This saddened me as it had a direct impact on both the leader and the people that they were meant to be leading. It’s part of the reason why so many people—both leaders and teams—are disengaged and uninspired by their work.
I believe that people have the right to be well-led in the workplace, and that it has a hugely positive impact on the organisation as a whole. I started thinking about how much further people could go and how much more fulfilling their careers could be if they were just given the right type of support at the right time.
My experience set me on a path of working directly with leaders, supporting them in their challenges and helping them to develop their own ‘conscious leadership’ style. Through building people’s leadership competence, I have seen individuals and teams grow in confidence, connect more fully with their purpose, and align better with what they want from their work life.
As well as supporting leaders, I also work with large and small teams in all kinds of organisations. I focus on the diverse needs of the team, strengthening their relationships and fostering resilience. Central to our work together is the idea of an authentic partnership, built on a strong foundation of trust and respect. The result of this is long-lasting relationships that deliver value and positive outcomes for my clients.
In my experience, this approach leads to a more contented work environment where people are more positive and enjoy what they do. It benefits the team in so many ways, including:
